March 18th in Senate Rules Committee... ACTION ALERT   Bill was on the calendar but was 'not considered' today.

Subject:  Oppose SB 148
Senators,
Please protect our families, communities and highways. Vote NO on SB 148.  The only people who need greater access to alcohol are those struggling with addiction. Protect our families against this horrific disease and protect our highways from increased DUI fatalities.  VOTE NO.

March 16th, Bill passed with only one opposition.

  • I spoke at the meeting my testimony & their response....clearly they don't understand addiction
  • Only Lawrence McClure voted no as I asked.  Please call his office and thank him for voting against this life harming bill.  (850) 717-5058  takes less than 15 seconds or email  Lawrence.McClure@myfloridahouse.gov

March 16th, In House Commerce Committee
Who needs greater access to alcoholic beverages except people struggling with addiction???
Please write this committee and ask them to oppose this bill.

TALKING POINTS excellent!

imilar Bills: House: Alcoholic Beverage Licenses: Authorizes food service establishments to sell or deliver alcoholic beverages for off-premises consumption if requirements are met; revises provisions that authorize restaurant to allow patrons to remove partially consumed bottles of wine from restaurant for off-premises consumption; revises requirements for sale of alcoholic beverages by certain vendors.

What does this bill do?
  1. Allows restaurant to sell patrons 32 oz of alcoholic drink(s) to go with no limit on the number of drinks one person can order
  2. Allows home delivery for alcohol... Is this really an essential product other than for those who are addicted?  How will ID's be checked and who will check them????
